Spring Equinox 2025: Embracing Renewal and New Beginnings
The Spring Equinox is here (Mar 20), and with it comes a sense of renewal and possibility.
As the earth awakens from winter’s slumber, we too are invited to step into a new chapter—one filled with growth, clarity, and fresh starts. For me, this season is always a reminder to step out of the cocoon of winter, renewed, excited, and ready to embrace the lightness of new beginnings.
Whether you’re feeling the stirrings of change or simply curious about how to align with this vibrant energy, the Spring Equinox offers a powerful opportunity to be reawakened to a fresh start, reset and reconnect to Spirit and ourselves.
The Energy of the Spring Equinox
The Spring Equinox is a time of balance, as day and night are equal in length. It’s also a time of renewal, as the earth comes alive with new growth. The element of Air, which governs this season, empowers and invites us to clear mental clutter, embrace fresh ideas, and set intentions for the months ahead.
This is a season of planting seeds—both literally and metaphorically. Just as farmers sow their fields, we too can plant the seeds of our dreams, goals, and aspirations. But growth doesn’t happen overnight. It requires patience, care, and a willingness to trust the process.
Card Reading for the Spring Equinox
To help you navigate this season of renewal, I’ve pulled three cards from my Luminous deck. Each card offers a message to guide you through the energy of the Spring Equinox. Here’s what they revealed:
Card 1: Rest
Message: Shamanically, rest is not a lack of movement but a sacred act of alignment. It is a time to listen to the whispers of the Earth, to dream with the seeds still buried in the soil, and to honor the quiet space within yourself where new intentions are born.
Guidance: Set an intention to harmonize action with rest this season. Ask yourself: What do I need to release or replenish to step into this new cycle with clarity and vitality?
Card 2: Water Therapy
Message: Water carries the wisdom of the subconscious, the emotions, and the unseen world. Sitting near running water—a stream, river, or even a fountain—allows you to connect with this cleansing energy
Guidance: Be near a body of water, spend time sitting beside it or you may take some time in the shower or bath. Visualize the water cleansing your emotional body, carrying away anything that no longer serves you.
Card 3: Engage Your Senses
Message: By tuning into your senses—what you see, hear, smell, taste, and touch—you open the door to deeper intuitive insights. The Spring Equinox is a potent time to practice this, as the Earth herself is awakening and sending forth signals of renewal and growth.
Guidance: Practice grounding exercises to strengthen your connection to the physical world, which in turn strengthens your intuition. Stand barefoot on the earth, imagining roots growing from your feet into the ground. Feel the support of the Earth and the flow of energy between you.
Together, these three cards create a powerful shamanic journey for the Spring Equinox:
Rest is the foundation—honor stillness and replenishment as part of the cycle of growth.
Water Therapy is the flow—release emotional heaviness and align with the cleansing, healing energy of water.
Engage Your Senses is the bridge—ground yourself in the physical world to access deeper intuition and connect with the Luminous Energy Field.
This trio invites you to move into spring with harmony, clarity, and a deep connection to both the physical and spiritual realms. It’s a reminder that growth is not just about outward action but also about inner alignment, emotional healing, and grounding yourself in the present moment to receive guidance.

Rituals and Practices for Spring
This Spring Equinox, consider creating a ceremony to honor the energy of renewal. Here are a few practices to help you align with the season:
Plant Seeds of Intention
Plant literal seeds in your garden or a pot, or create a symbolic ritual by writing your intentions on paper and “planting” them in a special box or jar. As you do this, visualize your goals taking root and growing.
Spring Cleanse
Clear out physical clutter from your home as well as emotional clutter from your life. Donate items you no longer need and let go of habits or relationships that no longer serve you. I love this process and call it Clearing the Clutter for Clarity!
Connect with Air Energy
Spend time outdoors, breathing in the fresh spring air. Practice breathwork or meditation to clear your mind and invite new inspiration. Remember that Air, the wind, and our breath bring about change, and that is a good thing!
Create an Altar
Set up a small altar with symbols of spring—fresh flowers, crystals, your favorite sacred objects, images that represent growth and renewal. Use this space for meditation or reflection throughout the season.
Closing Reflection
As we step into this season of renewal, I invite you to reflect on what you’d like to grow in your life. What seeds are you planting this spring? Remember, growth takes time, but every step forward is growth for your energetic body.
